Spark House Studios Two

Spark House Studios Two

This was another project for the University of Lincoln and was a challenging project for many different reasons: it was going for a BREEAM excellent rating, as well as being ear marked for several national awards. All of these factors made it mentally exhausting, but very rewarding at the same time. It is fair to say that Karl was taken on an educational journey. The project used solar cell power, a sedum grass roof, mono draught ventilation, and rainwater harvesting. Combination of value engineering and prelim savings enabled us to achieve a substantially increased margin.

Karl was heavily involved well before the start on site. He was trying to see opportunities to save money by offering the client alternatives to drawn detail. All material procurement was done by Karl as was all engineering on site.
